C&A ECO-Store, Mainz

"The first pan-european ECO-Store of C&A received the BREEAM-rating "very good". The building stays below the ENEV 2007 requirements for new buildings by 43%, for old buildings even by 60%. Active environmental works through integrative planning of building services engineering and architecture, CO²-neutral.

A semi-transparent stainless steel wire mesh veils the building, protects against heat and provides natural lighting and ventilation for the window areas. Direct and diffuse light makes the facade appearance differently throughout the day. Corporate Idendity and Architecture work together."

Ehrich + Vogel Architekten

The wire mesh facade comprises of appr. 856 m². The specification LARGO-NOVA 2017 with its small open area fulfills all requirements for effective sun protection. The raw-material consists of more than 70% (up to 100%) recycled raw material, and, if ever necessary, can be fully recycled again.

The size of a standard element is 10 x 2,50 m. Haver & Boecker supplied and installed a total of 67 mesh panels as well as the round tubes for the intermediate mounting levels.
